Resources:Discipline Or Love; Yes ~Mark Bradley I am a disciplinarian. Big word. It means that I set and enforce boundaries with my children. I’m the guy that does the dirty work of raising kids. I have four of them. There’s plenty of dirty work to go around. I don’t do this because I enjoy the sad looks on my kids’ faces. Quite the opposite. I do this because I love them. Let's Go Fly A Kite ~Shannon at Scrapits Can you remember the last time you flew a kite? You would be amazed at what can seem like a dull thing can light up a child, especially when their parent is doing it with them. Mothers Teach Your Children ~Jean Gebhard I wrote the poem "Mothers Teach Your Children" to remind parents what the Lord really wants us to teach our children. We owe it to them to guide them and teach them strong moral values that will remain with them throughout their entire lives. When children are taught strong moral values they are much more likley to be better adults. One of Those Days ~Shannon at Scrapits Have you ever had one those days that your last nerve wore so thin that you could use it to replace your worst pair of pantyhose? Every mother reading this will answer "Yes, at least three times a week." One of Those Days ~Marilyn Haugen Well, it's been one of those days - with some moment's not worth remembering. Seems like they usually occur at bedtime - we're all tired - and a few small jobs that haven't been fulfilled turn into big ones. Painting the Masterpiece ~Lissa M. Lee Have you ever had one of those discussions where the person talking to you asks your advice, but then they don't really want to hear it? They really just want you to listen to them. Feel sorry for them. Pat them on the head and then go on. I had one of those today. Spark Plugs ~Marilyn Haugen Bouncy blond hair, shiny blue eye, ideas bouncing around in her head, always a tease or comment; this is the spark plug of our family. Special Moments Of Love ~Marilyn Haugen The night before I was scheduled to leave for Mayo Clinic, my eight year old peeked in the bedroom door. "I can't sleep, Mom", she said. I had just finished packing six different suitcases, was trying hard to cast my worries on the Lord, and longed for my own pillow; but I decided to go lay down with my oldest. The First Hike ~Marilyn Haugen I walked outside, pretending to show the baby God's wonderful creation, while I was actually straining my ears to 'hear' their voices in the wind. Two Minutes ~Jeri Sires A lot of things can happen in just two minutes. You Don't Have to Learn the Hard Way ~Shannon Jarvies Becoming a parent has been the greatest learning experience of my life. For some reason, I thought that my marriage license was the equivelant of a masters degree in the school of life. Since then I have had four kids and reality has smacked me in the face on more than one occasion. I've learned several lessons that they fail to mention in the "How To.."books. I'm going to let you in on a few things "the experts" fail to mention.
